So what i did, and probably the easiest fix i have ever done, was pop in the Windows 7 CD , booted from it , went to Repair My Computer , have a peek at these guys I have an old Toshiba Satellite M115 laptop that I have let my daughter use for school (I am using a different laptop, obviously to post this question). BTW this is XP Pro on a Dell E6400. Tried the registry fix with same results. Run it as a .com file if the virus has caused a .exe file association error. I'm willing to reformat at this point if I can find out how to do it.
