How to blog effectively? Honestly, I’m not really in the mood to answer this question today. You see, I’m in dilemma. Something ‘interesting’ is about to happen and my mind can’t just snap out of it. Happy? Not really. Sad…definitely. Anyway, being your host in this blogging journey, I have a responsibility. To keep you reminded of the tenacity that is needed in building an effective blog, I made a point to myself to at least post an article once a week. These ‘lessons’ may not mean much to most of you but, I have to remind you about the marathon part and by being here with you at least once a week means that I’m still in the match.

Alrite, to be able to blog effectively, you need to do the following…

1. Set your blogging vision. Nobody knows this better than you. What do you hope to bring out from your blog? For instance, do you want your blogging to introduce your service globally, or do you want to directly make money blogging. If it’s about your service, for example, your law practice, what kinda customers do you target and where? Realize this…you can’t just target every Tom in the world! Maybe you just want to extend your reach to a certain part of the US…Los Angeles perhaps, Miami, etc. You could actually kill two birds with one stone…use your blog to reach your geo-audience and make money from it,even by putting Adsense. In this case, you would still have some earnings when your practice is still new. Remember, your blog is working 24 hours for you.

On the other hand, if you your main objective is to make money blogging, then determine a profitable niche. However, I have to remind you; blogging for money is just a small part of the domain of home-based online business and it is by no means the most lucrative. There are other online business that might bring in the dough faster. If you are interested, you could try this alternative whereby you will earn without having to wait too long.

2. Identify keywords. Do yourself a favor. Take 2 days to brainstorm on keywords to use for your blog. How about “LA lawyer”, “Los Angeles law practice” etc. Check the stats in Google Adwords Keyword Tool and determine at least 5 keywords that best describe your business.

3. Shop for a good domain name. Let me tell you something. Many lawyers would aim for their firms’ name…”Lee and Associates”, “Keever and Partners”…

Let’s put all these in proper perspective. An online presence is different from a brick and mortar setup. You can set up your firm in the center of Los Angeles and with the proper advertisement, potential clients will find their way to your doorstep.

However, the way you position your blog or website has to be different. The location in our world is synonymous with Search Engines in the net; prime location is equivalent to being in the first page of Google, Yahoo and Bing; real world advertising is synonymous to SEO, SEM, Social Media Marketing, Pay Per Click advertising, press release online. In summary, if you can get hold of LALawfirm.com, you will save yourself at minimum 3 years of hardwork paying an SEO firm to get your site found on the first page of Google for the keyword “LA Lawfirm”. The domain name may set you back by 10 grand today, but you will achieve near immediate exposure when people hit LA lawfirm in Google’s search box.

Therefore, put on your thinking cap as an online businessman when someone offers to sell you a domain like LALawyer.org, LALaw.net, LALawPractice.com, AttorneyInLA.net. He may be just be your Guardian Angel in disguise

4. Contents. Laser-focused contents with the right keywords. Get your partners to chip in an article once per week no matter how busy they all are. Put this in as the KPI (Key Performance Index).

5. Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Success is no guarantee even if you managed to get a killer category domain name. Candy.com was recently dislodged from the no.1 spot of Google by CandyWarehouse.com in certain locations. Work hard in building backlinks. Listen here, there are 3 SEO Tricks that must be done:

a. Keyword domain-name. Get a .com, .org or .net if possible if you are targetting the global audience. Recently, the .co is not bad too. If it’s just about Los Angeles, and if you can’t get the three tlds I mentioned, get the .us like LALaw.us. Try not to use .info and .biz though.

b. Topic focused contents.

c. Backlinks. You can do directories submission and also articles submission. If you have little time to do all these tedious work, you can opt for this to help you. Use your time for better use instead like writing unique contents and interacting with your readers.

6. Avoid linkfarms. There are firms online that offer ferocious link-buildings. Avoid them like a plague for God’s sake. I know of a fellow blogger who used to have a blog ranked highly in Googles with a few keywords about phones. His income…USD 4000 per month just from Google Adsense alone. Lately, Google did two things to punish his aggressive link-building pursuit. He lost the page-rank some 5 months ago, from PR 4 to PR 0. Then, the real nightmare came about a month ago. His blog got demoted from no. 2 for two powerful keywords to no. 50 to 60. Talking about an online limbo!!

Therefore, blog wisely. Know thyself and build on your knowledge for a profitable blogging experience.

[This is a post by a famous domainer, Shane Cultra. Shane has been in the domain business since 2005. His words are gold and he is kind enough to contribute his thoughts on how to choose a good name for your up and coming blog. There will be no special emphasize on keywords in this post as my respect for Shane. You can read about his domain pursuit in DomainShane.com. Meanwhile, enjoy...]

So you’ve decided to start a blog. If you’re like most new blog writers, you get caught up in picking out a name before you even type a word. You’ll soon find out that picking out a name is the easiest part of the job.

When it comes to picking a blog name I have one simple rule. Hand register the name. There is no sense paying money for a great name because you will be writing almost every day and that will give a huge advantage over static sites that are never updated. A good site name only makes it easier to remember but people remember even the craziest names if they love your site.

Pick a name that is personal. Perhaps even your name with the word blog behind it. Make sure they can tell what the focus of the site is going to be in the title. Don’t make it too hard to say, spell, or remember. If you are going to write about modems then you can make up words like modemizer or modemcodem (not sure if those are taken or not). It doesn’t have to make sense it just has to be memorable.

Picking a name also determines if your blog is something you want to sell eventually. If you name it after yourself you will have trouble selling your site because once you leave the site has no value. I usually decide how personal the site is going to be right up front so I can choose my name accordingly. My personal blog on domaining has my name in the brand. DomainShane.com . I will never be able to sell it because it has Shane in the title. It was a conscious decision I made up front but you will need to do this as well.

If you plan on selling items on your site, it’s not a bad idea to put the product in the name as well. Be careful to not pigeonhole yourself as you may not be selling that product forever and move onto something else. Johns Record Players is probably not an appropriate name today but was a great name 40 years ago. With technology changing so fast it doesn’t take long to make things absolute.

Finally, stick to the dot com. People go to dot com first. Your first instinct is to end up taking another ending because your first choice of a name was taken in the dot com. Don’t. Find another dot com. You are just giving traffic away to the dot com. No matter how creative you think your hack is, the dot com would have been better.

I have plenty of examples to let you know if you follow the advice above you will have a great start to your blog. Remember, no matter how great the name you chose for your blog, if you don’t put up good, regular, content the site will struggle. So put your personality and your creativity into your site and your name and you’ll have a great time regardless of the income your produce.

Those of you who have started blogging for money for at least 5 months would understand what I’m talking about. The urge to start another blog project, but this time, you tell yourself it’s not going to be just a Google Adsense blog. Something else…

Even for those of you who prefer to stick to adsense, you may want to start blogging on another niche, this time it’s a money maker. ‘Mesothelioma’!! It costs an advertiser around $200 on this keyword alone so what can go wrong?

Your Latest Ambition
5 months down the road when you actually did survive the dreaded 190 days of blogging, you might start seeing earnings coming from Google Adsense. Even a trickle convinces you that your effort is indeed real and this blogging thing may one day bring you out from your dreaded 9 to 5 job. Now, ever wondered what another blog would be able to do to your PPC income from Google Adsense?

There are people who make money flipping domain names. Business model is simple enough. They try to register pretty good domain names and resell them for a profit. Some sell enough to afford them into buying higher value ‘generic’ domain names and try to resell them at premium prices. Think Blog.com or Blogging.com. In other words, they sell thoroughbreds.

We bloggers are but a small part of the so called domain developers. Blogging for money involves putting renewing contents about a certain niche topic and then try to earn income from this, Adsense PPC or in the active selling of tangible and intangibles. The beauty about blogging is you don’t actually need a beautiful name for a domain to see early success. Just buy any name, put in relatively sufficient contents, SEOs and you will be able to turn a donkey into a horse. However, the key in this is about focus and concerted efforts. Don’t forget the keywords in your domain name though.

I got this idea from a domainer cum blogger called Tia Wood. Imagine drops of water hitting at the same targetted point of a mountain for perhaps a hundred years. No matter how soft the effort, after a hundred years, a dent will form. Now guess what would happen if these same amount of droplets scattered in a 100 meter radius for 100 years…forget about a dent, not even a weed would grow.

If you are alone, working on your blog for 2 hours a day because you have a full time job, you should see minor results within 5 months of blogging. I’m talking about fairly worthwhile niche with pay per click advertising at around $2 to $6. With super competitive niches similar to mesothelioma, it’s a different ball game. Gosh…you might need a small team to work on one single blog in this kind of niches…asbestos poisoning, asbestos cancers etc.

Resources
All businesses need a business plan. If you don’t know how to do a business plan, just keep this in mind. How much resources do you want to allocate to your blogging effort in terms of time, manpower and money?

Free CMS systems like WordPress, Joomla and Drupal have put a lot of webdevelopers out of job for the last 5 years. But for those of us who build money blogs, WordPress is a gift from heaven. Let’s put this in perspective:
Previously, you will either need to learn html or hire a freelance web designer to put up a blog template for you. With a logo design, this could easily set you back by $ 3000 to $ 4000.

Now, you can totally forget about hiring a web developer. Therefore all you need for your first blog is:
domain name (hand-registered) – $ 9.00
Web-hosting – $ 7.00 x 12 = $84
your time – 2 hours every night for research and blogging

The game change when you start your second blog or a third blog. It’s still cheap in the domain registering and web-hosting. Multiple blogs and websites can be used in one web-host(unless your website turned into a Facebook or twitter). But your knowledge and time is the limiting factor. Most of you will tell me to get some freelancers to do the research and writing for you. Now, you have to really think business at this stage. How do you want to finance these latest efforts of yours? From your first blog’s earnings?

I wouldn’t advise you to dig into your savings just yet at this point. Try to finance your effort from a portion of your monthly salary if you can. Find out how much a good writer will cost you in Freelancer.com or elance.com. From here, calculate how much you would have to fork out per month if you want to put in 2 to 3 posts per week to boost your blog’s standing.

This is no rocket science when it comes to building money making blogs. It’s all about calculating how much can you stretch yourself in this marathon business . Good luck!

What do you want for yourself or for your family? Are you ambitious and yet you feel that good lives are only meant for a priviledge few? Now, blogging is for you if

1. You are short on capital

How many times have people been telling you that one way to get out from the rat race is via owning your own business? But do you have the capital? To start a blog, you just need a pc, an annual fee of $ 10 for domain leasing and around $ 100 for hosting. I don’t think you need financing for this right.

Source: bamablogunite.blogspot.com

2. You don’t know what business to start

Imagine yourself an ornamental fish enthusiast. How much do you think needed to set up a shop catering to fish lovers? You don’t even know whether hobbyist will even come to your shop and would they spend enough to help you break even?

Start a blog….about goldfish, fighting fish etc. After a year, decide whether the niche is profitable.

3. You have only the next dvd to look forward to after work

We are tired and we need that relaxation after a hard day work. Unless you just want to lead remnants of what you are capable of, start blogging while watching your favourite movies.

4. You start to feel envious about your friends who are entrepreneurs

They have lots of time at their disposal. They send their kids to school in the morning and go for dimsum afterwards. Great life isn’t it? Don’t just settle for wishful thinking. Take action and start blogging.

5. You realize life is short

There is a saying in cantonese. “How many 10 years do you have in your lifetime?” Take action ladies.

6. You can write pretty decent English

You know when to use past tense and when to use present tense. In addition, you have ample vocabulary in our arsernal to construct a decent sentence.

7. You enjoy seeking and building on your existing knowledge

When you blog, you want to share what you know to your readers. In order to do that, you must expand your knowledge…to apoint where you start exceeding what you already know. Slowly but surely, you break the tipping point of your current efficiency.

8. You take pride in building on your effort

Building a blog business is difficult and the process slow. The rule of thumb is to be targetted. Again I have to repeat this. Focus on your niche and topic. Try not to sway from your niche. For example, if your blog is named ‘ How To Blog ‘, don’t write about ‘How To Cook”. That’s bad for SEO.

Good news for you. I have got Mr Shane Cultra of DomainShane.com to be a guest for the next post. The first step in make money blogging is to register a top notch domain name and Shane would be here to tell you that.

Happy New Year to all bloggers out there. Today is 2nd January 2011. Have you taken action yet? Have you started to make money blogging?

Ok, ok. It’s not my style to pester you into blogging if you really don’t want to because the choice is yours. However, if you are interested in making one of those simple money making blogs like a Google Adsense Blog, here are some suggestion for you in 2011:

1. Blogs about women’s beauty care

Like brick and mortar, it’s the easiest to make money from women. The fairer sex can skim on food and health but when it comes to beauty care, they are possesed. If you happen to be an expert in skin care, teeth whitening, breast enlargement…these are lucrative market. As women get more affluent and web-savvy, it’s about time to start an information site about important body parts of ladies that can be spent ‘renovating’.

2. Baby Care

Parents around the world will usually give the best thing in lives to their little ones. As a parent myself, I’ve spent a fortune on diapers, child care, health insurance, study funds and education on my boys. Again, as families grow smaller in size and both parents going out to work supporting the family, start a blog about babies and childcare. Are you still wondering why Amazon would buy up Diapers.com for USD 545 Million?

3. Dogs

Not all pet niches are lucrative and worth your time and resources. I’m not talking about your personal pet dog’s blog by the way. I’m refering to niches on ‘Dog’s Care’. Let’s face it, some of us actually treat our pet Labrador better than the way we treat our parents. Just go to Bangkok or Taipei one fine day and see for yourselves how doggy care centers have spruce up in these Asian metropolitans; from doggy bath, doggy nail care to doggy wellness. Time to give Lassy some well-deserved attention.

4. Healthcare

Diseases and disorders have been haunting mankind since the beginning of time. Human is fascinated with the elixir of life. If you happen to be a healthcare worker and is somehow familiar with diseases, you have got yourself a great niche. Cancers, autism, treatments….

5. Financial Products

Ever heard of Madoff and the story of how this guy fleeced the Global public on billions of hard earned retirement funds? Fear and greed have always been playing a part on our life. Fear of not having enough for retirement, greed for more, fear of sickness and not having enough to pay for the hospital bill… Yes. Google adsense blog about finance like insurance, investment vehicles, forex are all but some of the financial niches that command great premiums from PPC payment. If you happen to be an investment banker or insurance broker who understand your products, start a blog about your expertise. One day, your money making blogs about auto-insurance will still make you money after you have give your boss the boot.

6. Green Technology and Green Technologies

The green movement is getting stronger as our Mother Earth is showing signs of fatigue from pollution. Energy preservation is a market growing exponentially at this moment. Wind energy, solars, green building…. Make a list and maybe if you have enough passion about these topics, you can start to make money blogging out of one of the niche.

7. Auto-care

If women are all about beauty care, we men will be in droves on our cars. If you are a man, ask yourself, what sets your eyes roving. For me, ….it’s that V-6 Turbo that zoomed by my Nissan Sentra. Car care, car insurance should be your call if you love drifting.

8. DON’T WASTE TIME ON SEX

Yes, sex sells but if you happen to be just a newbie, for get about this fiery niche. Unless if you happen to have your own dildo shop, don’t start a sex blog. Google loath it.

9. Home Business

Everybody, including you n me are waiting for that faithful hour when we can fire our boss. If you think you have a knack for certain activities that can make money from home…don’t wait. Traffics would be all over you in several short months

10. Latest Technologies

The craze on iPhones and iPads, games , latest phones. If you are a geek of technologies, you are in luck. Tech niche is one of the most followed topic by the global audience and therefore, a blog about the latest mobile phones will definitely attract audience.

These niches maybe lucrative only if you have the stamina to grow your blog. Go into one of these not because I said they are profitable, because all profitable niches are highly competitive. Identify the topic you are passionate of, buy a keyword rich domain name and start your adventure blogging for money. Good luck from now on…

I was never interested in striking out on my own. And the last thing that ever crossed my mind is having money making blogs that could actually bring passive income for me.

I got my Basic Degree in 1996 and like any of my peers back then, I yearned to climb the corporate ladder. COO at 38 and CEO by the time I reach 45. A few years back, all these changed. I no longer wanted to work for an ‘employer’. Mind you, due to the hard programming, I’m already on my way of achieving the corporate goals I set for myself since 1996. The opportunities, the mentors, new openings….they are all waiting for the right time to open and with some right ‘pushes’, nothing is impossible.

The anxiety that hit me in the middle of 2010 was bad. Sales was down, and the top management was practically aiming for my jugular. My health deteriorated to a point that I started questioning myself about my goal of becoming the ‘king’ among employees. As long as you are in employment, you can never be the king of your destiny. Vultures in the guise of colleagues are waiting for you to make that faithful error that signifies ‘incompetencies’.

So what makes me choose blogging as my lifelong career, as my entrepreneurship venture instead of opening up a trading company or establishing a manufacturing arm?

1. I Met My Mentor. A silver lining will tend to appear at your darkest hour. An old classmate stood right in front of me when I was having lunch one day, whilst I was wondering what to do next. Honestly, this guy just appeared right before me when I called out for help. He is a domainer and taught me about blogging, and in the application of SEO.

2. Blogging is cheap. Domain names or virtual real-estates are pretty affordable although they are registered in Greenbacks. Anyway, my mentor owned HowToBlog.org and I was given the opportunity to develop the domain name.

3. I Bought HowToBlog.org. Prior to this, I dabbled in buying domain name myself…so called pigeon shit domains. So imagine my excitement when I finally got myself a powerful generic. Of course my dream would be owning HowToBlog.com but it’s ok…

4. I found my Passion In Sharing. The more I indulge in blogging, the more I’m able to find contentment in my life.

5. Money Start Coming in…maybe not in drove initially. But the income has more than covered the cost of the domain and simple additional indulgence for my family…like a holiday in Bangkok.

6. I Met My Second Mentor. Now this guy, used to be my best friend in University. He earns a living simply by building Google Adsense Blogs. Affiliate marketing constitute only a minor portion of his earning and guess what…he lead a lavish lifestyle raising three kids with his wife not having to work. Now, he is one hell of a successful blogger.

7. I Can work on my money making blogs part time. All I need is just 3 hours per day. I write HowToBlog.org myself and manage other Google Adsense Blogs by hiring a free lancer to write for me. On the positive side, I have the best of both world….being my own boss and also climbing the corporate ladder at the same time. Who knows, I might make it to the rank of the C-Suite both in my own blogging business and also my employer.

8. Rick Schwartz of RicksBlog mentioned in his post that the best time to venture into domain development is NOW. Guess what? I believe him. For your information, Rick is sort of like the Christopher Columbus of the domaining business. Imagine, if he can invest in domain names in 1995 when the internet was a semi-vacum parabolic matrix, and make billions out of this, don’t you think you should trust him in whatever he says in this area?

9. I surround myself with Successful Internet Entrepreneurs. OK. This is important. There are too many nay-sayers in this world and we don’t need them. Surround yourself with semi-pros and pros of the internet business and the beauty of it; you don’t have to know them. Just read their blog and my blog. Most of us would just love to share what we know because, it makes us improve. Not forgetting the good karma we achieve from spreading knowledge.

When Google says that inbound links from Facebook and Twitter count in your money making blogs’ ranking and serp ranking, it’s time to pay attention. As a blogger, what should you do to leverage on this piece of news. Matt Cutts said this, “Now, there’s a few things to remember. Number one is: if we can’t crawl a page (if we can’t see a page), then we can’t really assign PageRank to it, and it doesn’t really count. So if we’re able to obtain the data, then we can use it, but if for some reason a page is forbidden for us to crawl or if we’re not able to obtain it somehow, then we wouldn’t be able to use it within our rankings.”

Therefore, if blogging for money is in your mind, forget about the privacy settings and start making friends. Friends who happens to be interested in your niche. If you happen to be a Facebook enthusiast, start sharing your blog post. Open a group or fan page and start marketing your money making blogs to your followers.

As for Twitter, wait till I can find time for this…

From my interaction with fellow bloggers and my own blogging experience, many new and even seasoned bloggers have these misconception when talking about how to make money blogging. Blogging is big business and like all business, you need effort and intelligence when building it. People blog for various reasons; Google adsense blogs, business blogging, affiliate marketing and among others. Dream would just remain dream to many bloggers. A small percentage (around 1 %) will make it and the rest would just fall off like …. moths. Anyway, here are some myths that you should know:

1. It Is All Dependent on Effort. Hard work is an absolutely necessity, but not sufficient, condition for starting and growing a business. If all your efforts are merely that, all your work will just come out empty handed. The world is stuffed with over-worked, over-stressed, and not terribly prosperous small time personal bloggers who struggle not because of inadequate effort, but for the lack of suitable planning and focus.

2. Should You Blog Frequently enough, traffic will beat its way To your homepage. Really? Can you make a promise to yourself that you can continue your blogging for 3 years or 4 years down the road. Check out Problogger’s archive. HowToBlog.org is nearly 1 year old now but how long is considered long enough?? I have no idea really. I would say, just let your determination carry you through.

3. Just Put An Affilate Banner In your Blog and money will flow in. Correction again. The one best way to sell the affiliates is via reviews; solid reviews. Just like an expert reviewing a new gadget, prior to this, you have to gain trust and build some sort of following.

4. Your Blog Should Be All About You. The myth from the charismatic, “do and be everything” blogger is just that — a myth. People put on different hats when they take on different tasks…including shopping. We are different when we walk into a departmental store as compared to when we are searching for information online. The thing is, we ‘shut off ‘ everything when we surf…e.g. when you type ‘How To Blog’ do you think about handsome hunks or pretty chicks? And one more thing. If you want your personal blog to become profitable, you have to be famous first.

5. You Can’t Rely On Google. Look here. Google is your friend and you gotta believe me. Where would we be if there is no Google? Boy…the net will be owned by Microsoft and Yahoo and I dread to even imagine what would happen if that happened. No ‘Back To The Future’ for me regarding this. I just suck up to Google.

6. Get to The First Page Of Google And You Are There. Sorry to disappoint you. My HowToBlog.org is already in the first page of Google and somehow, my job is still not done!! Someway or another, HowToBlog.org would have to fight her way to the no. 1 spot of Google.com, Google.com.sg, Google.co.uk, Google.co.nz, Google.au, Google.whatever, Yahoo.com, Bing.com….And later, I have to work on other keywords and the cycle just repeat again and again. The work needed, depending on the competitiveness of your keyword.

7. You Have To Become The NExt Google. Google was once very much smaller than Yahoo, so small that it was practically begging for links from the Big Brothers of the nineties….Yahoo, AOL, Netscape… Size is just relative. You don’t have to be as big as Google to quit your job and who says you can’t be bigger than the O’ Mighty One. Look at Facebook and there are thousands of bloggers out there those who are earning enough to turn the wheel of the online economy. Just like the Small and MEdium Industries vs the likes of WalMart, Sony, Procter n Gamble etc.

Therefore, there are some truth in every myth and vice versa. Just continue what you are doing, be it blogging for money, e-commerce, affiliate marketing, small business. Kampate!!

2011 is near and most of us into making money blogging and other online business will be asking ourselves, what changes when it comes to SEO tricks. In the world of online business, we have not witnessed any major upheaval this year. Great niches remain where they are in 2010.

Source : iStockPhoto

Probably the most interesting area to take a look forward to is the latest trend in Search engine optimization (SEO) without which usually no website under the sun passes the conditioning test. The SEO domain has acquired a tremendous boost in the growing popularity from Social Networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and different improvements in search technologies; most notably Google Caffeine and Google Instant search. In this article and the subsequent one, I will give you some of the SEO fad or trend that you can look forward to in 2011.

SMM or Social Media Marketing

If you are into e-commerce, you cannot just ignore marketing your online business or blog in the domain of Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. In other words, you cannot just ignore SMM (Social Media Marketing) for pure SEO. Bloggers especially should not think about SMM as a distraction from their standard SEO efforts; nevertheless this new activity should be deployed to enhance a site’s already in place SEO tricks and focus. Social Media Marketing (SMM) activities may include back-links from individual social media marketing sites, development of a credible profile on these sites, and focusing on towards real time search. The more vortex you can stir up in social networking sites, the more your Search engine optimisation prospects will improve in the next 12 months.

The Speed your Money Making Blogs load

There are a few webmasters who count on off-page optimization rather than on-page optimization. But in 2011, you must give equal, or even more, attention to on-page optimization. Most significantly, the site load moment is going to be the litmus test. Google, in its hard work to improve website performance, has decided to punish those sites that have a lengthier load time. Additionally, improper use of Meta data in website programming will have a negative influence on site rankings inside major search engines within the coming year.

The Web Is Going Mobile

Apple’s iPhone and other mobile phones are getting more and more prominent and people have started surfing websites on their mobile phones more than ever. This trend is going to increase in 2011. FYI mobile Internet users already touches 90 trillion and the figure is growing like a plague. The need for improving your site for mobile users will naturally be pressing. Your site should be optimized for pertinent mobile applications, for instance Google’s Mobile Search Services and cell keyword tool throughout AdWords. Google itself has stated that mobile search results take priority over desktop serp’s when it comes to mobile seeking. This underscores the need to make investments your time and money in mobile SEO in the coming year.
You Tubes and other Online Videos

Online Video is the buzzword right now. Your site needs to be driven with YouTube movies, one of the most popular advertising on the web today. If you upload a video online for a particular keyword, your site gets an improved chance to be “visible” by primary search engines like Google for that search term. One cannot disregard the growing popularity of Metacafe. It has surpassed Google! to become the second largest google search in the U. Ersus. Therefore, putting up videos on YouTube not only enhances your site’s Search engine marketing prospects in Google, yet boosts its Search engine optimisation prospects in Metacafe itself.

However, there are still people like me who just love reading from articles as compared to listening to some ‘gurus’ trying to sell us some new softwares that boast about making thousands per day. Irritating is the word.

Google Caffeine And Personalized Search

One of the hot trend in online search features is individualized searching. This development will be even more prominet in 2011 and beyond. Search engines, the global search leader, has in fact created personalized search the particular default option. To me, it’s a way for powerful search engines like Google to stay ahead of Social Medias. Therefore until users drop out of this default option, they are likely to experience only personalized search functions from Google. Customized search results are based on the user’s web surfing habits. The probability of your web site showing up in the serp’s is going to diminish unless of course your site is one that is regularly accessed by customers. If your site is widely popular and users access it usually, you are likely to enjoy much better search positioning dads and moms ahead. Otherwise, you should build up your web site’s branding (by various other means) and attract users to access the website.

Localized Search

Experiments together with local search were affecting 2010 and the craze is likely to continue nicely into the next year. Leading search engines like Google have began depending on local search entries. As a webmaster, you ought to focus more on giving you better site’s ranking inside local search engines. Dominating the local listings is easier since there are a lesser number of avid gamers. Then when the major search engines incorporate the top neighborhood listings into their search engine results, you’ll receive programmed positioning. The outcome can be debatable if you have located your site in a diverse country. Generally, it is advisable to host your site within the same country where your business operates in purchase to take full benefit from local search listings.

Therefore, start incorporating your SEO tricks and efforts in accordance to the 6 trends mentioned above. There comes a time when even our money making blogs may look ‘prehistoric’ but your up to date know-how in SEO tricks will likely to see your effort in make money blogging bear fruit.

Whether your money making blogs are about finance, insurance, parenting or fetish products, there are certain things you can do for making each post ‘sticky’. Let me share with you a few strategies you can use to make your posts a lot more gripping – regardless of their length or even topic.

Rule of thumb for every post

Keywords and SEO awareness – When settling right down to write your post, don’t launch into the content immediately. Instead, dedicate the initial paragraph to keywords and keyphrases that are widely searched by worldwide readers. Blend your post with stimulating anecdote, a questionable statement, or a knock-out launching sentence, the “bait” that tell your readers that they will learn some new things. This approach has worked well for most bloggers. We are not here to win any writing prizes, we are here to make money blogging. Remember the most simple and obvious choice is usually the best one.

Your main objective is to attract readership. Therefore, omit any sentences or even paragraphs in your article that don’t fall under these two categories:

1. Words and phrases that persuade people to read the article.

2. Words that readers will want to read.

Your posts should, ideally, move from one category on the other. The aim of your current introduction is to connect visitors in: to give these people a reason to read on. The rest of your post must be dedicated to delivering in your earlier promises.

New bloggers usually make the mistake of concentrating too much on ‘selling’ and forget about adding value to whatever your blog is built in the first place.

Deliver on your promises

Your title will have raised certain expectations about what your post is going to provide. Resist the temptation to provide comprehensive background detail or otherwise include too much preamble on the real value as part of your post. Once your intro is finished, get your post started with the main objective in mind.
A useful habit – Start with your very best self point first. Any reader who was held by your introduction may soon lose interest if the content doesn’t make a sudden impact.

Try to link out as much as possible

Once you’ve done your post, go over it and try to spot possibilities to link out to other websites and blogs. It will add more depth and value to what you write. Even leading bloggers will follow upwards a trackback with an intriguing title, so connecting out can be beneficial from a ‘getting noticed’ perspective, way too. However, always keep Google Adsense TOS in your mind though.

A long post with great contents help in Search Engines (SEO)

There are bloggers who write about 500 words per post and there are those who are even to churn out 3000 to 4000 words per post. For me, I’m not a powerful writer although I have loads of knowledge where I want to share with my readers. Couple with this, I have a short attention span so writing thousands of word per post is definitely not me. But, I always try my best to hover around 800 to 1200 words as much as possible.

Add visual attention

A picture is often worth a thousand words. By adding images, shade and formatting in your post, you’re making them more enjoyable to read. There are readers who appeal to writings, pictures and videos. Emphasizing key essay sentences in bold is a simple yet powerful method to make your posts a lot more gripping.

Make a pact with yourselves to add at least one impression to each post you’re posting, even if the post is short (and even if your image is very little). By adding align=”left” or align=”right” or even align=”center” to the HTML tags on your image, you can press your image to the left, right or center regarding surrounding text. Make use of Google Images to search for the image that appeal to you. Lastly, quote the source and link out.

Use ‘I’ and ‘You’

Only a personal blogger can have unique contents. Most of our money making blogs are in crowded niches and most topics have been covered before ( in certain form or another). The only unique part of the process is you and me. Write your blog like you are talking to your personal friend; to someone whom you sincerely want to impart your skill.

Another point to ponder, if you’re covering news in your specific niche market, ask yourself the following inquiries: does this affect myself or someone I am aware? What do I think the implications of the announcement will be?
If you are sharing your thoughts or knowledge to others, ask yourself, how has this knowledge added value in your venture when you first started.

What I’m delivering to you today is little; knowledge I’ve gathered only for 12 months. Add to mine, you will have a new set of ideas that you may be able to apply on your money making blogs. Consider sharing them as well.
