Gosh…you might need a small team to work on one single blog in this kind of niches…asbestos poisoning, asbestos cancers etc.

All businesses need a business plan. If you don’t know how to do a business plan, just keep this in mind. How much resources do you want to allocate to your blogging effort in terms of time, manpower and money?

Free CMS systems like WordPress, Joomla and Drupal have put a lot of webdevelopers out of job for the last 5 years. But for those of us who build money blogs, WordPress is a gift from heaven. Let’s put this in perspective:
Previously, you will either need to learn html or hire a freelance web designer to put up a blog template for you. With a logo design, this could easily set you back by $ 3000 to $ 4000.

Now, you can totally forget about hiring a web developer. Therefore all you need for your first blog is:

your time – 2 hours every night for research and blogging

The game change when you start your second blog or a third blog. It’s still cheap in the domain registering and web-hosting. Multiple blogs and websites can be used in one web-host(unless your website turned into a Facebook or twitter). But your knowledge and time is the limiting factor. Most of you will tell me to get some freelancers to do the research and writing for you. Now, you have to really think business at this stage. How do you want to finance these latest efforts of yours? From your first blog’s earnings?

I wouldn’t advise you to dig into your savings just yet at this point. Try to finance your effort from a portion of your monthly salary if you can. As women get more affluent and web-savvy, it’s about time to start an information site about important body parts of ladies that can be spent ‘renovating’.

2. Baby Care

Parents around the world will usually give the best thing in lives to their little ones. As a parent myself, I’ve spent a fortune on diapers, child care, health insurance, study funds and education on my boys. Again, as families grow smaller in size and both parents going out to work supporting the family, start a blog about babies and childcare. Are you still wondering why Amazon would buy up Diapers.com for USD 545 Million?

3. Dogs

Not all pet niches are lucrative and worth your time and resources. I’m not talking about your personal pet dog’s blog by the way. I’m refering to niches on ‘Dog’s Care’. Let’s face it, some of us actually treat our pet Labrador better than the way we treat our parents. Just go to Bangkok or Taipei one fine day and see for yourselves how doggy care centers have spruce up in these Asian metropolitans; from doggy bath, doggy nail care to doggy wellness. Time to give Lassy some well-deserved attention.

4. Healthcare

Diseases and disorders have been haunting mankind since the beginning of time. Human is fascinated with the elixir of life. If you happen to be a healthcare worker and is somehow familiar with diseases, you have got yourself a great niche. Cancers, autism, treatments….

5. Financial Products

Ever heard of Madoff and the story of how this guy fleeced the Global public on billions of hard earned retirement funds? Fear and greed have always been playing a part on our life. Fear of not having enough for retirement, greed for more, fear of sickness and not having enough to pay for the hospital bill… Yes. Google adsense blog about finance like insurance, investment vehicles, forex are all but some of the financial niches that command great premiums from PPC payment. If you happen to be an investment banker or insurance broker who understand your products, start a blog about your expertise. One day, your money making blogs about auto-insurance will still make you money after you have give your boss the boot.

6. Green Technology and Green Technologies

The green movement is getting stronger as our Mother Earth is showing signs of fatigue from pollution.  Energy preservation is a market growing exponentially at this moment. Wind energy, solars, green building…. Make a list and maybe if you have enough passion about these topics, you can start to make money blogging out of one of the niche.

7. Auto-care

If women are all about beauty care, we men will be in droves on our cars. If you are a man, ask yourself, what sets your eyes roving. For me, ….it’s that V-6 Turbo that zoomed by my Nissan Sentra. Car care, car insurance should be your call if you love drifting.

8. DON’T WASTE TIME ON SEX

Yes, sex sells but if you happen to be just a newbie, for get about this fiery niche. Unless if you happen to have your own dildo shop, don’t start a sex blog. Google loath it.

9. Home Business

Everybody, including you n me are waiting for that faithful hour when we can fire our boss. If you think you have a knack for certain activities that can make money from home…don’t wait. Traffics would be all over you in several short months

10. Latest Technologies

The craze on iPhones and iPads, games , latest phones. If you are a geek of technologies, you are in luck. Tech niche is one of the most followed topic by the global audience and therefore, a blog about the latest mobile phones will definitely attract audience.

These niches maybe lucrative only if you have the stamina to grow your blog. Go into one of these not because I said they are profitable, because all profitable niches are highly competitive. Identify the topic you are passionate of, buy a keyword rich domain name and start your adventure blogging for money. Good luck from now on…

From my interaction with fellow bloggers and my own blogging experience, many new and even seasoned bloggers have these misconception when talking about how to make money blogging. Blogging is big business and like all business, you need effort and intelligence when building it. People blog for various reasons; Google adsense blogs, business blogging, affiliate marketing and among others. Dream would just remain dream to many bloggers. A small percentage (around 1 %) will make it and the rest would just fall off like …. moths. Anyway, here are some myths that you should know:

1. It Is All Dependent on Effort. Hard work is an absolutely necessity, but not sufficient, condition for starting and growing a business. If all your efforts are merely that, all your work will just come out empty handed. The world is stuffed with over-worked, over-stressed, and not terribly prosperous small time personal bloggers who struggle not because of inadequate effort, but for the lack of suitable planning and focus.

2. Should You Blog Frequently enough, traffic will beat its way To your homepage. Really? Can you make a promise to yourself that you can continue your blogging for 3 years or 4 years down the road. Check out Problogger’s archive. HowToBlog.org is nearly 1 year old now but how long is considered long enough?? I have no idea really. I would say, just let your determination carry you through.

3. Just Put An Affilate Banner In your Blog and money will flow in. Correction again. The one best way to sell the affiliates is via reviews; solid reviews. Just like an expert reviewing a new gadget, prior to this, you have to gain trust and build some sort of following.

4. Your Blog Should Be All About You. The myth from the charismatic, “do and be everything” blogger is just that — a myth. People put on different hats when they take on different tasks…including shopping. We are different when we walk into a departmental store as compared to when we are searching for information online. The thing is, we ‘shut off ‘ everything when we surf…e.g. when you type ‘How To Blog’ do you think about handsome hunks or pretty chicks? And one more thing. If you want your personal blog to become profitable, you have to be famous first.

5. You Can’t Rely On Google. Look here. Google is your friend and you gotta believe me. Where would we be if there is no Google? Boy…the net will be owned by Microsoft and Yahoo and I dread to even imagine what would happen if that happened. No ‘Back To The Future’ for me regarding this. I just suck up to Google.

6. Get to The First Page Of Google And You Are There. Sorry to disappoint you. My HowToBlog.org is already in the first page of Google and somehow, my job is still not done!! Someway or another, HowToBlog.org would have to fight her way to the no. 1 spot of Google.com, Google.com.sg, Google.co.uk, Google.co.nz, Google.au, Google.whatever, Yahoo.com, Bing.com….And later, I have to work on other keywords and the cycle just repeat again and again. The work needed, depending on the competitiveness of your keyword.

7. You Have To Become The NExt Google. Google was once very much smaller than Yahoo, so small that it was practically begging for links from the Big Brothers of the nineties….Yahoo, AOL, Netscape… Size is just relative. You don’t have to be as big as Google to quit your job and who says you can’t be bigger than the O’ Mighty One. Look at Facebook and there are thousands of bloggers out there those who are earning enough to turn the wheel of the online economy. Just like the Small and MEdium Industries vs the likes of WalMart, Sony, Procter n Gamble etc.

Therefore, there are some truth in every myth and vice versa. Just continue what you are doing, be it blogging for money, e-commerce, affiliate marketing, small business. Kampate!!

Whether your money making blogs are about finance, insurance, parenting or fetish products, there are certain things you can do for making each post ‘sticky’. Let me share with you a few strategies you can use to make your posts a lot more gripping – regardless of their length or even topic.

Rule of thumb for every post

Keywords and SEO awareness – When settling right down to write your post, don’t launch into the content immediately. After 4 months, with a new post for at least every week, surprisingly you still find your visitors to hover around 10 to 15 a day. Oh oh… Ok let’s  go through a checklist of all things possible.

1. Your Domain Name

There are two possibilities here:

a. You have gotten yourself into a very competitive niche. Check the keyword. If it is “Mesothelioma” for example, you can see that the cpc in Google Adwords for this niche is around USD 200. Impressive but only God and Google will know how long you would have to slog before you see yourself in the first 20 pages of any search engine. Too much competition is bad for your staying power and mental health if your main intention is purely to make money blogging.

b. Your niche is too small. The niche may have a small following or it is so new that years maybe needed for it to pick up momentum. “Digital Amplifier” for example. Even if you make it to the top of Google, don’t party yet. 800 searches per month would only translate to about 10 visitors in the first 3 months and maybe another 30 in the following 6 months.  And it’s so easy to get to number 1 spot in Google if your domain happens to be DigitalAmplifier.com or DigitalAmp.com.

Some will make it faster, I don’t know but my advise to you is to be prepared for the long haul.

It always amaze me how bloggers could get their Google Adsense account banned. I read these kinds of post all the time and yes it leaves me scratching my own head. It’s not hard to follow the Google Adsense Terms of Service.

For those of you who are really anxious to feel the wrath of Google and can’t wait to have your Google Adsense account assasinated, here are the ways leading to the internet hell.

1. Deliberately click on your own advertisements. Yes, accidents do happen. However when one is so accident prone that one just click on your ads 10 times in 5 minutes, well serve you right! If you do unintentionally click on your ads, contact Google Adsense instantly and let them know what happened.

2. Asking others to click on your ads. If lord Google says don’t to do it, DON’T. As simple as that. I’ve seen video’s and other forms of advertisements where dumb goons asked people to click on their ads.  Come on man. Even if you are broke, you are not warranted to cheat. My opinion is, it’s great that you get banned!

3. Taking part in a “Adsense Click Ring”. You can actually outsource groups of people to click on your ads. My friend told me once that Google has more PhDs working for them than the number of citizens residing in Penang. It’s a joke of course but my point is, only a fool would think that he can outsmart Google.

4. Put Google Adsense on websites  that have questionable or even banned content such as Porn, Drug and also Gambling sites.

5. Showing Adsense ads on Registration or “Thank You” pages. I’m not too sure about this but better to be on the safe side.

6. Firmly sticking ad relevant images next to your Adsense blocks. For instance, tricking people to select your ads by getting pictures of the latest OLED TV close to an Adsense block advertising TV ads.

7. Enrolling multiple accounts. I’ll simply say it’s possible to get multiple accounts legitimately. Nonetheless, for most of us, one particular account is sufficed.

8. Registering another account after you have been banned. There is no such thing as just ‘Forgive and Forget’. Email Google and ask for forgiveness. But don’t put too much hope.

9. Putting Google Adsense on Pop Ups which keep generating other pop-ups when a user tries to close them. This thing used to happen 2 to 3 years ago and rest assured, these people should have been assassinated by now. Such dirty trick raises the “impression rate” as a result messing with the code that Google uses.

Remember, Google Adsense Revenue is the no. 1 asset that a new blogger should be vigilante about. Therefore always guard your Google Adsense Account with your life!
