How To Blog For Newbies Day 2

Now, after the initial euphoria of securing your domain name, quickly ask yourself, what is your purpose. You want to build a blog and practice how to blog correctly, right??

A newly registered domain is akin to a piece of flat land. It’s empty and you have to develop it. In order to start developing your empty domain, you need to subscribe to a web hosting service.

What is a web host? They are internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts provide space on a server  for customer’s usage as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically known as a data center.

Competition among web hosting service providers are rife and we are definitely spoilt for choice. If you want a free web host, just type free-webhosts.com. In this directory, you will find a list of free web hosting service. However, to be on the safe side, do your homework before you engage one. Your domain  is precious.  A good web host would make your blogging journey to be as smooth as possible with minimal glitches.

For me, after much thought, I decided to look for a cheap and highly recommended web hosting service instead. One of my search criteria then was to have one which gave good technical service. Remember, I am a rookie. After much research you will come across a list like hostgator.com, bluehost.com, webhostingpad.com, fatcow.com, ipage.com. These are all in the top at the moment. Even godaddy.com provide hosting service.

I opted for ipage after some extensive research and deliberation. One tip I would like to share with you. When you visit a web hosting provider website, do not sign in for the service immediately. Most of them will give you a better offer in the form of a pop-up if you leave their sign in page.

Now, just ask yourself what do you look for in a web hosting provider? Take your time, take at least 3 days to do your research on what you want. Good luck!
