I've been troubleshooting boots only into safe mode. I tried your suggestions but the problem remained. Are you sure you can't get into sys restore?????????? In Safe Mode, Windows uses a very low screen resolution, doesn't initialize much hardware support, and avoids loading third-party startup programs. I can't see how to do that.
