I chose to manually install only the important updates.I might recommend not trying to update right away, and get on with reloading your programs etc. However, many of the updates listed here are for Windows 7 and Server 2008, rather than Server 2012. Richard August 31, 2016 Reply I should add that I did have to run the "Windows Update Diagnostic" (from Microsoft) before and after each installation recommended here. Update: Microsoft has released a huge update rollup for Windows 7 SP1, this is similar to a service pack but they are not calling it that. It worked for me. Worked perfect. Back to your article, where I found the link to the Microsoft article which warns that normal humans are NOT to attempt this - it is for IT professionals only. I tried another restart - nope, then tried a complete shutdown and cold reboot and that worked! As for issue 2, that one just requires you to manually install some specific updates which also isn't mentioned here.

I'm not arrogant enough to say that this will fix your problem. Your cache administrator is webmaster. It took me all day but everything is up to date now! Once I nailed down a process to get everything working, I determined what wasn't necessary in the steps I had taken in order to make a guide for it.
